City of Del Mar Beach

Code 4.08.010(A): It Shall be unlawful for any person to leave or hitch any horse in a
public park or public beach except in areas designated by the City for that
purpose (Ord. 468)
Municipal
Code 4.08.010(B): It Shall be unlawful for any person to ride or permit any horse upon
the public beach south of a point 2,079 feet (first house at river mouth) south
of the intersection of the northerly boundary of the City with the mean high
tide line of the Pacific Ocean.
Hours
of Operation:
24 hours a day, 7 days a week, Note: 6/16 to 9/14 dogs on a leash are allowed,
9/15 to 6/15 dogs are allowed off-lease and under voice control.
Directions: From I-5, take Via De La
Valle exit and head west, then make a left turn onto Camino Del Mar, and park
on the right hand side of the road before the bridge. Go to the “Pay &
Display” machine and pay $5.00 for a parking ticket, and display it on your
dashboard.

mouth, up to the Northern boundary of the City of Del Mar, You are not allowed
to go under the bridge.

Code 6.3.1.6 (21): It is unlawful to leave or hitch any horse on any park or plaza
property, except at such places as are provided and designed for those
purposes.

Code 6.3.1.3 (b)(2)(a): Horses must be led, ridden, or driven upon any roads or paths.

Code 6.3.0.12(d): Legally licensed dogs shall be allowed to go unleashed on Fiesta
Island (during the same hours that horses are there).

Directions: From I-5, take Sea World
Drive exit and head southwest, then make a right onto East Mission Bay Drive,
then left to Fiesta Island. There is parking throughout the island.

There are no San Diego County Beaches, Beaches are City or State operated.
