Sugar came to us in 2003 without any training. Sugar is now 6 years old and for her entire lifetime prior to her coming to the Ranch had never had to respect anything or anyone. Update: Well, it is a year and a little bit later, and Sugar has changed immensely. She now has respect for me in her stall for cleaning, watering, and moving her around, and she is working well in the round pen, knows her liberty cues for whoa, change, back, away, and come to, and is leading. She likes to be petted for a short time as well. We havn't spent a lot of time with her due to having so many zebras to concentrate on training, and with her background of being a 'lawn ornament' from a foal well engrained, she can now go to a home that would like to watch her in the field and enjoy her uniqueness. Her legs are black and white striped, just like a zebra. She has lighter, but full body striping as well. Her conformation is superb, with straight legs, great, well balanced body and neck and a real pretty head.
